Welcome to The Vic,
Nelson’s Public House
Who We Are
Originally The Victorian Rose was established in 1992 and quickly became Nelson's premium watering hole. Then, in the early 00s, it was transformed into The Vic Mac's Brewbar and ownership was taken over The Williams family in 2010. Who have since saken off the “Mac’s Brewbar” aspect and are now proudly a freehouse.
For us, it's all about good old fashioned hospitality, and going back to the root of that timeless idea of creating an environment where people from all walks of life are welcome. A pub is a place for celebration, commiseration, togetherness and more importantly, it’s the beating heart of a community. Always best when accompanied by hearty food and frosty cold ales. The Vic has been proudly doing so for over 35 years.
Hospitality is in our blood. Our Grandfather owned a café in the midlands of England back in the mid 20th century, and our Great Grandfather ran a pub in which now is at home in the Black Country Museum, home of the Peaky Blinders. Rich family heritage in a beautiful heritage building.
